wine of the week
Loving Pinot Noir is a curse. Finding a good one is an eternal quest, especially when value is part of the equation. Thanks to the cooler regions of Chile, they have been producing some interesting and well priced examples. Just on the southern edge of the Atacama dessert and 29 km from the Pacific Ocean, the Limarí Valley’s strong breeze and cool nights contribute to keeping the wine fresh and vibrant. Tabalí is by far one of the best producers of the region and their Pinot Noir is a charmer. Lush with ripe wild strawberries and cherry flavours, the wine is enjoyable on it’s own but makes a great partner for pork, chicken and grilled salmon. Chill slightly and stock up! – MB
